Regional and Country Recruitment and Retention (2005 Report)

At the end of the first quarter of 2005, the LIV launched a research project to investigate the recruitment and retention of regional country legal practitioners. This has been an issue which been raised repeatedly by regional and country members and an ongoing topic of discussion with Country Law Association presidents. Results of the survey and a number of solutions to the main themes raised in the report are available below.

LIV Publications

The reputable monthly Law Institute Journal (LIJ) is the key publication for legal practitioners in Victoria . It features articles from a wide variety of sources, including LIV staff, legal practitioners and experts in other related fields. LIV members receive the LIJ FREE and enjoy access to the online archive of earlier journals.

The Young Lawyers Journal (YLJ) targets LIV members of the Young Lawyers' Section which is a dynamic and fast growing group established to enhance the legal skills, knowledge and professional networks of practitioners new to the profession (under 6 years in practice), articled clerks and law students.

Typical content in an issue includes: legal updates, opinion pieces, career advice, interviews, reviews and news regarding the Young Lawyers' Section.
